Website design

A custom web design service, not a template refresh

Every page starts from your brand, your product and what your team already knows about how customers move through the site. UX thinking is applied inside the design work rather than sold to you as a separate line item, so you are not paying for a research phase before anyone touches a layout.

Your Creative Lead sets the direction, and the level of strategic involvement scales to what you actually want. Some teams hand over a brief and a sitemap. Others want the Creative Lead in the room while the page structure is decided. Both work.

Responsive web design service across every screen

Your buyers open your pricing page on a laptop and your campaign landing page on a phone. Designs are delivered for the breakpoints your site actually uses, so your developers are not guessing at how a section should reflow.

An alternative to a full service web design agency

Full service usually means design plus development plus hosting from a single vendor.

Teamtown covers the full design scope: the site itself, plus the advertising design services, email marketing design services and social media design services pointing traffic at it. It does not cover code, CMS implementation or hosting.

Teamtown designs to a dev-ready state and hands the files to your developers to implement. If you need one vendor to design and ship the site, a full service web design agency is the better fit, and it is better that you know now.

I've been using Teamtown for a couple of years now and figured it's about time for a review, they've earned it.

They're kind've like real life AI. You give a brief overview and some examples of what you want done and the next day or so, depending on the size of the project, is a finished design for you to utilize as you wish. Its neat, and affordable.

How much does a website design service cost?

It depends who makes it and how often you need it. An agency website project commonly runs $5,000 to $30,000 for a single build, and Clutch puts typical web design company rates at $100 to $149 an hour. A freelance designer sits lower, usually $1,000 to $5,000 for a small custom site, with development quoted separately.
Project pricing becomes less attractive as your site changes more frequently. For teams with ongoing web and marketing design needs, a subscription can be more cost-effective and avoids re-scoping every update with a new provider.

What separates the best web design services

The cheapest option and the best-value option are rarely the same one. What separates them is usually not the visual work, it is whether the same people come back next month already knowing your brand, and whether the files land in a state your developers can actually build from.

Cheaper than hiring a web designer in-house

Between the costs of hiring, retaining, supporting, and growing the careers of web designers, it adds up quickly. Plus, there's the operational overhead to consider. The true cost of hiring web designers in house can sky-rocket, fast.

A senior in-house designer runs past $100,000 a year once benefits, management and recruiting are counted, and you are still hiring one person. Teamtown clients report around 60% cost savings against in-house hiring, and get a Project Manager, a Creative Lead and 3 to 5 designers instead.

How are our web design services different?

You get a team, not a queue. The same Project Manager, Creative Lead and 3 to 5 designers handle every page, on a first-name basis, so the fifth landing page needs less briefing than the first. That compounding is the thing a project agency cannot sell you and a rotating queue cannot build.

One flat monthly fee, month to month on every plan. Pause or cancel with 15 days' notice. Unused hours roll over for one month, with no annual contract and no need to scope a new statement of work every time a page changes.

Marketing teams who want web design inside a wider subscription typically shortlist the enterprise providers alongside us. Our breakdown of the design subscription alternatives to Superside covers where each option fits by budget, commitment and scope of work.

What does a web design service include?

At Teamtown, a web design service covers landing pages, full marketing sites, redesigns and ongoing website updates, delivered by a dedicated team on a monthly subscription. It covers the design, not the build. You receive dev-ready source and final files, and your developers implement them.

How do your web design services work?

Every engagement starts with a Creative Brand Workshop. We audit your existing brand resources, align on the direction, and build a gameplan for any gaps before production begins.

From there, you submit web design requests through Slack Connect or the Design Portal with your brand guidelines, copy, assets, and project requirements. The same Project Manager, Creative Lead, and designers handle your requests, so the team gets to know your brand over time.

Revisions are uncapped, and once a design is approved, you receive the source and final files in a dev-ready state. Teamtown handles the design, not the development, so your developers take the approved files and implement them on your site.

Do you build the website, or only design it?

Design only. Teamtown does not do development of any kind, and does not work in your CMS or hosting. The team designs to a dev-ready state and hands the files to your developers so they can implement without friction. If you need one vendor to design and build, this is not the right fit.

How much does a web design service cost?

Teamtown starts at $3,000 a month, with Pro from $4,500 and Studio from $9,900. For comparison, agency website projects commonly run $5,000 to $30,000 for a single build. A subscription trades the one-off project fee for continuous capacity you can point at whatever needs designing that month. We break down the cost of website design in more detail on the blog.

Can you redesign our existing website?

Yes. Redesigns are one of the four web project types the team handles, alongside landing pages, full sites and ongoing website work. A redesign usually starts with the Creative Brand Workshop, so the new direction is agreed before any page layouts are produced.

How long does a website design take?

It depends on the asset and its complexity. Smaller requests and revisions can move quickly, while full-site designs take longer. We'll confirm the timeline based on the scope and complexity of the project.

Do you write the website copy?

Copywriting is a Studio plan deliverable. On Essentials and Pro you supply the copy and we design around it, which is usually faster anyway because you know your product better than anyone.

What happens if we do not use all our capacity?

Unused capacity rolls over for one month. Every plan is month to month, so you can also scale up for a launch and back down afterwards, or pause or cancel with 15 days' notice.

Do I work with different designers for each request?

With Teamtown, you always work with your own dedicated design team. This means the same set of 3-5 designers will always be working with your brand, learning what you like and getting even better with time.
